View answerI understand from the Chief State Solicitor's Office that it is in correspondence with the applicant's solicitor and that, as noted in my reply to the Deputy on 1 July last, it is awaiting certain information to progress this matter. I should also explain to the Deputy that this type of case normally involves the Chief State Solicitor taking out letters of administration and advertising for next of kin who may have a legal claim to succeed. It is only following the completion of these procedures that any application for waiver of the State's interest would be considered.
