My Department is currently seeking applications for new remedial works projects to be undertaken and funded over the next three years. I understand that Meath County Council will be submitting projects relating to the locations concerned for consideration under this call for proposals. The closing date for project submissions is 30 October 2008.

Question:

1462 Deputy Arthur Morgan asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will confirm that an estate (details supplied) in County Meath will receive the €14 million committed by his Department to Meath County Council under the remedial works scheme 2008. [30288/08]

View answer

A pre-tender budget cost in the sum of €13,952,176 has been approved for the project concerned. A tender report is due to be submitted to my Department shortly for consideration. In the absence of an approved tender at this stage, it is not possible to determine the level of funding to be made available to the local authority for this project in 2009.
