1842 Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Education and Science when the authorisation for the purchase of the site in respect of a school (details supplied) in County Donegal will proceed in view of the fact that the Office of Public Works have deemed the site in question to be the most suitable and have reached agreement with the vendor on a price. I propose to take Questions Nos. 1842 and 1845 together.

The acquisition of the site for the school will be considered in the context of the capital budget available to my Department for school buildings generally. In light of many competing demands on the capital budget of my Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the acquisition of the school site at this time.
