276 Deputy Leo Varadkar asked the Minister for Health and Children the State sponsored bodies, quangos and other agencies within the remit of her Department that have the power to issue compulsory purchase orders; the number of CPOs that have been initiated by such agencies for the years 2005 to date in 2008; the purpose of such CPOs; the outcome in each case; and if she will make a statement on the matter. None of the agencies directly funded by my Department have powers to issue compulsory purchase orders. The Health Service Executive have powers to issue compulsory purchase orders and have confirmed that no such orders have been initiated between January 2005 and September 2008.
