View answerMy Department does not operate a grant scheme such as that referred to by the Deputy. However, the person referred to may be eligible for assistance under the Scheme of Community Support for Older People which is funded by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The purpose of the Scheme is to assist the community based provision of socially monitored alarm systems and security equipment such as sensor lighting, window locks, door locks and door chains for older people.
