View answerInterviews to fill these vacancies were held from the 15 — 17 January 2008. The military authorities have informed me that the report of the Selection Board has been the subject of correspondence since then, within the Defence Forces, relating to the procedures applied. I also understand that the candidates were to be kept informed of developments. The Chief of Staff has accepted that there has been an unacceptable delay in the process. The matter is now being addressed directly by the Deputy Chief of Staff (Support) and it is expected that the appointments will be made shortly.
