639 Deputy Brian Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science if the budget changes he announced in 2008 in connection with the reorganisation of primary and post-primary schools allow schools to provide job sharing and career break opportunities for permanent staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The terms of the career break and job sharing schemes for teachers remain unchanged. The decision to approve an application under either of these schemes is a matter for the authorities of the employing school.
