Written answers

As this is a service matter, it has been referred to the HSE for direct reply. The National Treatment Purchase Fund arranges treatment for patients who have been on a waiting list for more than three months. It is open to the person in question or anyone acting on their behalf to contact the Fund directly in relation to their case.

Tom Hayes

Question:

108 Deputy Tom Hayes asked the Minister for Health and Children if she received a request for funding in respect of a new cystic fibrosis unit at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin; the consideration this request was given; her views on the necessity for such a unit; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy will appreciate that a proposal of this nature would be appropriate to the Health Service Executive and accordingly my Department has asked the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the HSE to respond to him on the issue.
