102 Deputy Pat Rabbitte asked the Minister for Transport if he has made a decision on changing the legal blood alcohol level for motorists; if so, what the proposed new level will be; the reason the decision to change the BAC level has been delayed for so long; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Government gave its approval late last year to the drafting of a Road Traffic and Transport Bill, which inter alia proposes a reduction in the legal Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level for drivers. It is hoped to have the Bill published in the coming months.
