Question:

294 Deputy Michael D. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children her plans to hold a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, who, it is reported is visiting Ireland in October 2009; and if, at such a meeting, it is planned that she will discuss the recommencement of inter-country adoptions between Ireland and Vietnam. I will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam on the 23rd of October during his visit to Dublin. Issues relating to Inter-country Adoption with Vietnam will form part of these discussions.

I have previously met with the Deputy Prime Minister during my visit to Vietnam in late June 2009.
