324 Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Transport if he will confirm that the cost per kilometre on the western rail corridor is €1.5 million as compared with the reported €7.5 million per kilometre spent on the Cork-Midleton line or the €21.4 million spent on the Navan line; his views on the reference to the abandonment of the western rail corridor in the report of the special group on public service numbers and expenditure programmes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
