343 Deputy Paul Gogarty asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the sum of payments received by the operator of a hostel (details supplied) in County Clare from the State to house asylum seekers at the hostel; the annual breakdown of the amounts received by the operator for its years of operation; the reason the contract with the company has been ended; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Reception and Integration Agency's contract with the centre ended in the normal course on 29 September, 2009 when the terms of the contract expired. This centre was first contracted to the RIA on 01/04/2000 for the accommodation of asylum seekers. Contracts for accommodation are generally not issued on a calendar year basis and can be offered for varying periods of time depending on the RIA's anticipated needs at the time of offer. RIA has had a total of 7 contracts with this centre and the details are shown in the table.
