457 Deputy Olivia Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of officials at principal officer level or higher working in his Department on 1 May 2009. [40211/09]

As at 1 May 2009 there were 74 (73 full time equivalent) officials at principal officer level or higher working in my Department. As well as administrative staff, this includes non-administrative/professional grades at principal officer level or higher e.g. staff of the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) and of the Inspectorate.
