223 Deputy Enda Kenny asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 305 of 17 November 2009, the interim arrangements for the provision of Garda station facilities at a premises in Ballyvary, Castlebar, County Mayo; the scale and cost of the provision of these facilities; and when same will be available to gardaí and the public. I am advised by the Office of Public Works that a lease of a premises has been secured in Ballyvary for use as a temporary Garda station. Fit-out of the property, which is of a relatively small scale, has commenced and it is anticipated that it will be available to Gardaí by the end of December and to the public in early 2010.
