291 Deputy David Stanton asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the net amount which will accrue to local authorities as a result of the introduction of the €200 charge on non-principal residences in 2009 and 2010; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As of 14 December 2009, €53,586,540 has been collected as a result of the charge on non-principal private residences, all of which, less transaction and administrative costs, accrues to local authorities. It is expected that a similar figure will be raised in 2010.
