838 Deputy Mary Upton asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will institute a review of the State’s response time and lack of planning during both the recent flood and cold events; his views on the fact that there is an urgency in relation to future planning for weather events, particularly in view of the possible climate change effects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have initiated a review of the emergency response to the recent flooding event and a review will be undertaken on the operation of the co-ordination of the inter-agency arrangements during the recent severe weather event with a view to assessing the performance of the arrangements and to ascertain if any revisions are necessary.
