View answerMy Department is currently examining the background to the case referred to by the Deputy in the details supplied. I should say, however, that the Value for Money Review of the School Transport Scheme is nearing completion. The Steering Committee is looking at the original objectives and aspects of the scheme, including the ‘closed school rule', whether these objectives remain valid today, the extent to which the objectives are being achieved and whether there are possibilities for economies or efficiencies that would improve the value for money of the scheme. The review will be published and sent to the Oireachtas Select Committee on Education and Science.
