210 Deputy Tom Hayes asked the Minister for Transport the amount spent on rural transport in south Tipperary every year since 2004 to date in 2010; the number of routes that are funded by his Department; the number of passengers that avail of this service in south Tipperary annually; and if an expansion of routes is planned for 2010. Pobal administers the Rural Transport Programme (RTP) on behalf of my Department. The provision of services under the Programme is a matter for Pobal and the individual RTP groups who know where the transport needs are in their areas and how best to address them. Rural transport services in the South Tipperary area are provided by Carlow, Kilkenny & Tipperary South Riding Rural Transport Limited, which operates as Ring-a-Link.

The funding allocated to Ring-a-Link in the years 2004-2010 is as follows:
