309 Deputy Enda Kenny asked the Minister for Transport if he has received a set of recommendations from Mayo County Council in respect of changes to the speed limit that apply in the county; when this proposal will be acted upon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6950/10]
View answerI have not received recommendations from Mayo County Council in respect of changes to the speed limits that apply in that county. Statutory responsibility for the application of special speed limits through the making of special speed limit bye-laws is vested in the elected members of county councils and city councils.
