View answerI expect to notify local authorities, including Mayo, of my Department's block grant allocations under the 2010 Rural Water Programme shortly. Responsibility for the administration of the Rural Water Programme, which includes funding for group water schemes, has been devolved to local authorities since 1997. Under the devolved arrangements, local authorities are responsible for the approval and funding of group water scheme proposals.
