677 Deputy Joe McHugh asked the Minister for Education and Science when a decision will issue on a building project (details supplied) in County Donegal; the timetable for the decision making process in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6328/10]
View answerThe building project at the school referred to by the Deputy is at an advanced stage of architectural planning and has been assigned a band 1.1 rating. An enabling works contract to provide a new sewage plant and filtration bed at the school was approved in 2009. The progression of all large-scale building projects, including this project, is dependent on prioritisation of the competing demands on my Department's capital budget. The building project for this school will be considered in the context of my Department's multi-annual school building and modernisation programme for 2010 and subsequent years. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of my Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the delivery of the project at this time.
