212 Deputy Leo Varadkar asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the number of persons with PRSI class S contributions who have applied for or inquired about seeking jobseeker’s allowance in 2007, 2008 and 2009; the number who did not qualify due to the means test; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10649/10]
View answerThe department does not maintain statistics on persons who make general enquiries as to possible entitlements to its schemes. While it would be possible to extract some information in relation to customers who applied for jobseeker's allowance but failed to satisfy the means test, it would not be possible to say with certainty how many of these were self-employed persons.
