Question:158 Deputy Pat Rabbitte asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will review the practice that requires non-nationals living outside Dublin to have their fingerprints taken before renewing their residency permits, in view of the fact that this is not required of those renewing at the Garda National Immigration Bureau; if his attention has been drawn to the distress that this practice may cause to parents who have their fingerprints taken in front of their children; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
