Broughan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Science the appointments or nominations made by her to bodies, boards or organisations under the aegis of her Department since 1 January 2009 and to date in 2010; the method used in selecting persons for such appointments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerSince my appointment to the Department in March 2010 I have made a number of appointments to the Governing Bodies of Institutes of Technology. These appointments were made on the nomination of the relevant VECs in accordance with the Institutes of Technology Acts 1992-2006. I will arrange for my Department's officials to forward a copy of appointments made to bodies under the aegis of my Department from 1 January 2009 to the date of my appointment in March 2010 to the Deputy for his information.
