139 Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if, with regard to the primary care reimbursement service in Finglas, she will provide data in respect of the number of new medical cards issued and the number of applications renewed in respect of over 70 years and of individuals and families under 70 years of age for each of the past six month period back to the start of 2008. View answerIn the normal course of events, my Department would have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE), which has operational responsibility for the medical card and GP visit card benefits, to reply directly to the Deputy in relation to Parliamentary Question 17235/10. However, because of the current industrial action which is affecting the HSE, it was not possible for the Executive to supply the requested information to the Deputy. The current industrial action is not preventing the processing of medical card and GP visit card applications in the HSE.
