View answerSections 8 and 9 of the Health Act 2007, under which the Health Information and Quality Authority was established, make provision for investigations by the Authority. Under Section 9 the Authority may undertake an investigation as to the safety, quality and standards of the services provided by or on behalf of the Health Service Executive.
