View answerI have been in contact with the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) in relation to this matter. I have been advised by the IAA that the "Red Zone" at the eastern end of runway 10/28 commences 60 metres from the existing runway threshold. The IAA has further advised that all "Red Zones" were established based on the longest length of runway including all future expansion. With regard to the western end of Runway 10/28, there is provision for a 400 metre extension at Dublin Airport, and the "Red Zone" on the Fingal County Development Plan is positioned based on the maximum length this runway can be extended to.
