1365 Deputy Seán Sherlock asked the Minister for Social Protection the status of an appeal for rent allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [33832/10]
View answerThe Health Service Executive (HSE) has advised that the person concerned was refused rent supplement as she was deemed as not having a housing need as she is living in accommodation provided by a local authority. The HSE has further advised that the person concerned appealed the decision to the HSE Appeals Office but that the decision was upheld. The person concerned has further appealed the decision to the Social Welfare Appeals Office. The Social Welfare Appeals Office has advised that it has received an appeal from the person concerned but that no decision has been made on her appeal to date.
