Representatives from the Board of Management of this school attended a briefing given by my Department to explain the tendering process and the steps involved. The tender process is currently in progress.

View answerI can confirm that the school to which the Deputy refers has recently applied to my Department for an extension to an existing classroom. The application is currently under consideration in my Department and a decision will issue to the school authority in due course.

View answerThe School in question was approved a Devolved Grant for the provision of a mainstream classroom and a resource room in June 2010. My Department is aware of the difficulties being experienced by the school in relation to planning matters and understands that works are due to commence in early 2011. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the funding allocated for this project will be available in 2011.
