View answerThe Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) administers the Warmer Homes Scheme (WHS) on behalf of my Department. The eligibility criteria for the WHS are that the householder is in receipt of the Fuel Allowance, and that the house is owner occupied and constructed before 2002. In circumstances where the house is not owned by the resident, the applicable scheme would be the Home Energy Saving (HES) Scheme, which is available to owners of dwellings built before 2006 including landlords and owners of multiple properties. The schemes provides grants of up to 40% of the typical cost of upgrade measures, including roof insulation, wall insulation, boiler upgrades and heating control upgrades.
Queries in relation to individual applications are an operational matter for the SEAI. Dedicated hotlines for both schemes are available (WHS hotline — 1800 250 204; HES hotline — 1850 927 000) and all queries, from scheme applicants and public representatives, on delivery dates for individual households and/or funding agreements are dealt with immediately.
