36 Deputy Martin Ferris asked the Minister for Finance when the comprehensive spending review will be undertaken; the persons who will make up this comprehensive spending review; the deadline for the review to be completed; the terms of reference for the review; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Government intends to initiate a Comprehensive Spending Review shortly and to complete the exercise within approximately six months, so that its findings can be reflected in the Budget for 2012. The details of how the Review is to be conducted are now being finalised by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.
