View answerMy Department is developing policy proposals to regulate the area of Assisted Human Reproduction (AHR) with the intention of finalising them this year. These proposals will form the basis of legislation in the area of AHR and related practices, and are subject to Government approval. If and when Government approval is obtained, it will take a considerable period of time before the enactment of legislation, as the process would then involve the drafting of a Bill and its passage through the Houses of the Oireachtas in the usual way.
