444 Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the position regarding a planned building project (details supplied) in County Cork. [6601/11]
View answerPlanning permission was received from Cork County Council in November 2009 for a new two-storey station house for the Irish Coast Guard Crosshaven Unit at Lower Road, Knocknagore, Crosshaven, County Cork. In line with Public Procurement Regulations, the Office of Public Works ran a pre-qualification process whereby a number of suitably qualified contractors were invited to submit a tender for the project. Five firms satisfied the criteria set and were invited in October last to submit a tender for the station. The process of selecting the contractor is currently in hands by the OPW and building work is expected to commence later this year.
