509 Deputy Ciarán Lynch asked the Minister for Health and Children the plan in place to deal with the backlog of orthopaedic outpatients at Cork University Hospital; if there has been any recent initiatives directed at reducing the waiting time; if he will indicate the number of patients at present on the waiting list; the average waiting time; the longest waiting time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The management of waiting lists generally is a matter for the HSE and the individual hospitals concerned. I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to the Executive for direct reply.
