View answerThe Government is committed to reducing Public Service numbers generally and is currently engaged in a Comprehensive Review of Expenditure with all Departments. Following a study of the outcome of this review, the Government will consider all options proposed by the review in order to ensure we meet the overall targets set out in the Programme for Government including taking into account expected natural wastage in the coming years.
