127 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if he intends that Bord Na Móna would accept liability for damage done to neighbouring properties during recent fires that originated on Bord Na Móna property; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The matter in question is not one in which I have a function but is a day-to-day operational matter for the company. I have been advised by Bord na Móna that it continues to work closely with the local community and the fire service to prevent bog fires, protect property and reduce future risk.
