181 Deputy John Paul Phelan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food his plans to hold a media campaign, as was done previously, highlighting the dangers to the national sheep flock of dog attacks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14926/11]
View answerSheep, particularly around lambing time can be vulnerable to attack by dogs that are allowed to run free. It is my intention to alert dog owners to the importance of ensuring that their dogs are kept on a lead and under control at all times when near farm animals. I will be issuing press notices to this effect early next Spring.
