382 Deputy John O’Mahony asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will extend the current mandate of the interdepartmental committee to establish the facts of State involvement with the Magdalen laundries to the Bethany Home; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29727/11]
View answerI can inform the Deputy that the inter-departmental committee is charged with establishing the facts of the State's involvement, clarifying any State interaction with the Magdalen Laundries, and with producing a narrative detailing such interaction. There are presently no plans to extend its brief beyond those institutions.
