Questions (366)

Maureen O'Sullivan

Question:

385 Deputy Maureen O’Sullivan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he is satisfied that the electoral law in relation to election material which states that it is an offence to print posters, leaflets and so on without an imprint is being enforced; if there have been any prosecutions in relation to this; if any candidate has not received a refund of election expenses for failing to have the imprint; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have sought a report from An Garda Síochána in relation to matters within the question that may fall within their remit. The Deputy will appreciate that the legislation for the registration of electors and the conduct of elections is a matter for my colleague the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government.
