404 Deputy Michael McCarthy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the size in the reduction of the staff within his Department over the past three years; the total number of staff employed by his Department in 2009, 2010 and 2011 separately; the main areas within his Department which staff reductions were greatest during this time, and if he will make a statement o the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Staff numbers in my Department decreased by 672 FTE (full-time equivalents) from the beginning of 2009 to the end of September 2011.
