At the end of October, €580m of the Department's 2011 Vote remains to be spent.

Based on the latest Departmental forecasts, it is anticipated that while some savings will occur, substantial expenditure will take place on schemes and services by the end of the year. The Department will continue to monitor expenditure closely on an ongoing basis.
