Clare Daly

Question:

582 Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Health the reason the Irish Osteoporosis Society did not receive its annual funding from the Health Service Executive in view of the fact that it is the only charity here that deals specifically with osteoporosis and in view of the fact that the level of funding that it was being considered for was just under the cost of treating five fractured hips, €155,000; his views that to cut the funding of a charity which is effective at informing and preventing an expensive condition is ultimately a regressive measure; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
