29 Deputy Mary Lou McDonald asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the number of the current Secretaries General who will benefit from added years and special severance payments on retirement. [35177/11]
View answerTwenty Secretaries General or equivalent for the purpose of ‘TLAC terms' are entitled to these terms on foot of Government decisions at the time of their appointment. It is a matter for Government to decide which of the options, i.e. assignment to an alternative post or early retirement, will apply to any individual Secretary General on completion of his/her contract.
The Deputy will be aware that, for new appointments at this level, I recently announced significant reforms to these terms.
