568 Deputy Michael McCarthy asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the ongoing difficulties with the centralised system for medical card applications, which directs persons who ring its 1890 number to call their local health office, which in turn informs the caller that the files have been sent to Finglas, Dublin, meaning that no answer is forthcoming; his views whether this service is satisfactory; if he intends to review this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
