275 Deputy Dominic Hannigan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of gardaí serving in Dunboyne town, County Meath, over the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011; his plans for gardaí in the Dunboyne area over the coming years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the personnel strength of Dunboyne Garda Station as at 31 December 2007 — 31 December 2010 and 31 October 2011 the latest date for which figures are readily available was as set out in the following table:

The allocation of all resources, including personnel, is a matter for the Garda Commissioner in consultation with his senior management. Garda Management closely monitors the allocation of resources in the context of crime trends, policing needs and other operational strategies in place on a District, Divisional and Regional level, to ensure optimum use is made of Garda resources, and the best possible Garda service is provided to the public.
