Written answers

The person concerned was refused carer's allowance on grounds that she has not established that she is providing full-time care and attention as laid down in the scheme guidelines. The department is satisfied that the care recipient has a requirement for full-time care. She was notified of the decision and the reason for it. Further information was subsequently received from the person in question and, in response, her file was referred to an investigative officer of the Department for further investigation and confirmation that all the conditions for receipt of the allowance are satisfied. On completion of the necessary investigations, the original decision will be reviewed and she will be notified directly of the outcome.
