418 Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Social Protection her view that she or any agency funded by her who own properties in office complexes in which a management company is in place, should take an active role in the running of such management companies including the appointment of a nominee to the board of the company in order to protect the investment of tax payers’ money. Responsibility for the acquisition of office accommodation for the Department of Social Protection rests with the Office of Public Works. The Department is not involved in matters of management of property and none of agencies funded by the Department owns property.
