168 Deputy Mattie McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding the establishment of the qualifications and quality assurance authority of Ireland; when new applications for provider registration for FETAC will be accepted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Bill, 2011, which provides for the establishment of the new Authority, was published in July 2011 and Second Stage was taken in the Seanad in September. I hope to establish the new Authority in the first half of the year and it will begin processing new applications for provider registration shortly thereafter.
