604 Deputy Michael McCarthy asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that vaccinations were carried out on children who were resident in the St. Conlett’s reformatory school, Dangean, County Offaly during the period January 1964 to January 1967; if records were kept of these vaccinations, and if so, the location of same; if these results were tabulated; if research based on such results was carried out subsequently; if he will provide a breakdown of the institutions which used the information obtained from the research and if he will confirm if the authorities in the school were paid by way of commission, moneys or any other form of monetary payment for allowing these children to be vaccinated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I take it that the Deputy's question relates to possible clinical trials of vaccines at the reformatory school in question. My Department has no records or other information relating to any such trials at that location.
