139 Deputy Robert Dowds asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the consideration being given to issues relating to the former Bethany Home and the appropriateness and practicality of such issues being addressed in a satisfactory manner; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7171/12]
View answerThe Deputy will be aware that the Government has charged an inter-departmental committee with clarifying any State interaction with the Magdalen institutions and producing a narrative detailing such interaction. There are presently no plans to expand its brief beyond those institutions. While I cannot be any more specific at this time, I can assure him however that consideration continues to be given to issues related to the former Bethany Home and the appropriateness and practicality of such issues being addressed in a satisfactory manner.
